Question of the Day
When you cook for dad, or when he dines at your restaurant, what do you serve him?
My Dad comes in every Thursday night, so he sees the menu change quite frequently. He is a very good guest because he will eat and drink just about anything. I typically let him order off the menu as he likes, but I will always send him out some fun items. Recently he ate wild boar testicle for the first time and really enjoyed it.
He loves Crabcakes so I enjoy making those for him. He also loves seafood so I always like to cook a fish entree for him when I visit him.
anything he wants!
frites with egg and a waffle aka breakfast for dinner
He loves beets and our turnip sauerkraut. He will typically order fish. I'll bet if he came in tonight he would have soft shells!
Unfortunately my dad passed a couple of years ago. He liked nothing more than the the fact that when my brother and I became chefs, we could make steak and mashed potatoes much better than my mother. Don"t tell her that though.
Whatever he wants!! In all seriousness, my folks were in at Big Star last week. We sent them most of the menu. My father is in love with the pork belly taco. He likes to wash it down with Tecate.
