Last trip to NYC included Maialino, Gramercy Tavern, Death & Co, Momofuku's Milk, Big Wong's, Alleva, Lombardi's, Momofuku's Ssam Bar, Babbo, Little Branch, Blue Ribbon, Bar Masa, Shake Shack, Eleven Madison Park, Bluesmoke...This took my wife and I 60 hours or so but not a bad line up. Can't even begin to go over everything we ate but it included crack pie, pork buns, uni, jowl bacon, kumamotos, peking duck, coal oven pizza, beef cheek ravioli, suckling pig papardelle, cheese fries, hot links, mac 'n cheese, bone marrow with oxtail marmalade, duck and fois fried rice, toro, hamachi and much more.
just did the nyc trip and i gotta say i think we did alright.
day one:
the breslin (awesome english breakfast)
the national (best moscow mule i've had all summer)
employees only(curried cockles!!!!!!!!)
joeseph leonard (an amazing place!!, great cocktails)
(other various bars i'm having trouble remembering for some reason::ahem::)
day two:
the smith
momofukku ssam
fatty crab(best food the entire trip)
spotted pig(felt most at home here)
day three:
some random pizza place
nights and weekends(really cool bar, awesome ceviche)
5 leaves(trip highlight)
random bar or two
hotel delmano(amazing cocktails, beautiful space)
day four:
some oyster place
ice cream truck
the penny farthing(stopped in during happy hour to get out of the heat. nice room)
spotted pig.(had to go back...)
good trip. missing a few things here and there, those are the most noteworthy.
Chicago
When I travel around our very own city with numerous wonderful restaurants I don't just gorge I have small bites at many different places. In one day, I try, on average to at least stop at three to eat and a couple more just to drink. It's hard work to research and develop new ideas and be inspired.
