Two brothers 4 course dinner with Jim Ebel

This is a Two Brothers dinner with Jim Ebel.  I am excited about this one.  I have met Jim at some charity events the last couple years.  Jim and I decided to have a dinner at the end of November.  We are doing a  Lamb parpedelle with Cane and Ebel Red Rye.  We will do a mussel and Walleye Chowder paired with Heavy Handed IPA just to name a few. We will do four courses of seasonal food.  Reception from 6pm-7pm we will have a surprise canape and beer.  Dinner starts at 7pm.  Tickets are 60 dollars plus tax and tip.  It will be grat fun and education about beer.

Lagunitas Brown Shugga Tapping

Is there a better day to tap Lagunitas Brown Shugga then on Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones birthday? We don't think so either. Come in on Wednesday October 24th at 10PM and let the boys from Lagunitas buy you a beer. The Rolling Stones will be playing in heavy rotation.

Solemn Oath Brewery's 'Whisper Kisses' Saison Launch

Tomorrow evening, the Bluebird will welcome our friends from Solemn Oath Brewery in Naperville, who will tap a small cask of their brand new 'Whisper Kisses' Saison, which will be offered for $6/glass.  

Beer director Jason Baldacci describes Whisper Kisses as a "strong Belgian-style blonde ale with big fruity notes and a hint of herbal hops."  

Chef Dave Ford will be serving special Berkshire Pork Chops w/ Onion Marmalade and Grilled Peaches, selected specifically to pair well with the saison.

There's no need for reservations - the cask will be tapped at 6pm, and it's recommended to come early.

Shitty Beer Dinner

Vie will be hosting a 5 course dinner on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 featuring old favorites in the world of beer. This is our second time around with the "old standbys" and we are upping the ante by welcoming some our friends to choose one of their favorite cheap beers and pairing a course with it! We look forward to spending the day with Paul Fehribach (Big Jones), Leonard Hollander (Marion Street Cheese Market), Jared Wentworth (Longman and Eagle), Justin Large (Big Star), Tara Lane (Hullhouse Kitchen) and John Anderes (Telegraph). The dinner costs $85 per person inclusive of the beer pairings, but not including tax or gratuity.

2 Sparrows is excited to announce the launch of a monthly beer dinner series! The first installment will take place next Friday, December 9 in partnership with Finch's Beer Company. Head Brewer Richard Grant and Brewers Charlie Davis and Mike Demetrus of the Chicago-based small-batch brewery will be on hand to lead diners through the evening's beer selections, which will be paired alongside a four-course meal featuring Chef Gregory’s comforting, contemporary American fare. Reservations are available during three seatings: 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The event costs $60 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity. Reservations can be made by calling (773) 234-2320. Bookings will be held via a credit card. Space is limited to 60 guests.

Epic burger pairing with New Holland brewery. every other month we team up with ManBQ and New Holland brewery to create an epic burger. this month will be the "Bay Of Pigs" burger, a porky cuban sandwich burger with ropa vieja fries, paired with Farmhouse Hatter. $20 for a huge burger and a pint of farmhouse hatter.
