Browntrout & North Shore Distillery present "On The Eights"

This One will be a blast!  We have Sara from North Shore and one of the founders of North Shore attended this cocktail party. We will be taking Cocktails and food and pairing them together.  We wil do eight cocktails and eight canapes.  It will be a great taste of Northshore and Browntrout.  We are very excited to do a cocktail party with one of our local distributers. We will even have a surprise cocktail and canape for the eigth one.  It runs from 7-11pm come celebrate local spirits with us.

Beer Event: November 29, 2012 - November 29, 2012

Two brothers 4 course dinner with Jim Ebel

This is a Two Brothers dinner with Jim Ebel.  I am excited about this one.  I have met Jim at some charity events the last couple years.  Jim and I decided to have a dinner at the end of November.  We are doing a  Lamb parpedelle with Cane and Ebel Red Rye.  We will do a mussel and Walleye Chowder paired with Heavy Handed IPA just to name a few. We will do four courses of seasonal food.  Reception from 6pm-7pm we will have a surprise canape and beer.  Dinner starts at 7pm.  Tickets are 60 dollars plus tax and tip.  It will be grat fun and education about beer.

Connoissuer dinner and Cocktail party December 5th

This one will be a progressive dinner of sorts.  We will be having a cocktail and canape party with our new neighbors Bottles and Cans.  A new craft beer, wine, liquor store. They will be pour champagne cocktails and wine. They will be talking about their wine from 6:30-7:30pm. Then we will move over to Browntrout and have a four course dinner seasonally focused meal paired with connoisseur wines.  It will be 75 dollars per person tax and tip not included. Menu will follow soon.

Browntrout Farmers Market

The Browntrout Farmers Market is Supported by Ground Up.

Ground Up is a Chicago chef comunitty comitted to building a local and sustaianable farmer chef connection through education, access, and support.

The Market is an incuabtion market for small farmers In the midwest.  It runs from 5-8pm every Tuesday all summer until September.  The idea for the market is to have one that is only for a nominal fee you can participate in our market ALL season. By having a market at low cost to the vendor they can get a jumpstart into doing good business and marketing for them.We have childrens cooking classes and work shops.  We will be serving craft cocktails and small seasonal plates from our bar.  I just need some Marketing help for this to fall into place. 

Right now we have Catalpa Grove(Goat milk feed Veal and lamb)Frillman Farms(Radishes, chicken eggs, baby letyuces Lucky Duck Farm (pea tendrils, duck eggs and chicken eggs),  Puffs of doom (Awesome Cream Puffs), BOT bakery a vegan bakery, Sharpening by Dave (knive and tool sharpening).

Valetine's Day tasting menu

Browntrout is offering a Valentine’s Weekend 4-course tasting menu to celebrate the holiday. The menu will be offered February 11th, 12th and 14th. The restaurant will be Monday, February 13th. The cost of the dinner is $69 per person with a wine pairings option costing an additional $31 per person. Vegetarian available upon request. Complimentary glass of local sparkling wine will be offered to each guest.

The 'Dog Patch Ramblers' Live at Browntrout every Sunday from 5:30-8pm The' Dog Patch Ramblers' duo are no strangers to the city of Chicago. The charismatic, best friends (Henkel and Kusterer) have performed in numerous local venues such as the Pritzker Pavillion, Hideout, Double Door, Uncommon Ground and have been causing quite a stir around the local festival, farmers market scene as 'buskers/street performers'. As a part of the full 'Dog Patch Ramblers' outfit, you will see the duo perform on the PBS series "Live at the Alley" airing in early September 2011 and can expect their new full length record 'Banjos and Melodies (2011)' to hit the public waves in late August. Covering all corners of the bluegrass/folk/americana genre, the DPR duo unites original songwriting with the repertoire of traditional musical flavor such as Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Grateful Dead, Beatles,etc.
