Beverage News: June 21, 2011

STATE AND LAKE has unveiled its new cocktail list, with most of the drinks bearing Chicago-inspired names honoring a famed street, fountain, highway and more. The State Street Gimlet is essentially a Chicago version of a Moscow Mule. Inspired by the classic combination of vodka, ginger beer and lime, the gimlet is a mix of Effen cucumber vodka, fresh lime, ginger ale and simple syrup. The Windy City Weekend, meanwhile, is a riff on a classic Mint Julep, featuring the essential elements of lime, mint and simple syrup, plus Bacardi arctic berry rum for added fruit flavor.
