On Wednesday, February 29, mk The Restaurant hosts “Lunch Break for Schools”. The nationwide event sponsored by Hidden Valley and the American Culinary Federation will raise funds for the “Chefs Move to Schools” program, which fights child obesity by encouraging children to eat more healthily. Lunch starts promptly at 12:30pm and is priced at $50 a person. The menu will include salmon carpaccio and twenty-eight hour braised short ribs. All proceeds from the event will go to creating resources for nutrition education programs at schools throughout the US, including Chicago.
