Pan-Seared East Coast Cod with Crispy Potato Cake, Rosemary-Roasted Cauliflower, Cherry Tomato Relish and Chef Alfonso’s Secret Sauce ($23.50)
What do you do when your chef makes a killer, delicious dish and then tells you the sauce is sour cream, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, roasted garlic and cilantro? Well, first you eat all of it because it is so freaking good and then you figure out what to call it on the menu. Roasted Garlic-Cilantro Cream seemed a little disingenous and well, "secret sauce" sounded fun. East coast cod fillets are pan-seared and served atop a crispy potato cake and drizzled with the "secret sauce." Interstingly, rosemary-roasted cauliflower is a delicious foil for the cilantro-scented sauce and some cherry tomatoes with herbs and a touch of red wine vinaigrette add color and freshness.
