Barrel aged Brooklyn ($10)
This was a ton of fun... My bartender Cody Modeer and I decided to try out the great idea of Barrel aging of cocktails together. We decided on a Brooklyn...We Took a Cane and Abe barrel used for Rum from Journeyman Distillery. We added Rittenhouse Rye, Luxardo Marachino Liquor, Dry Vermouth, and Amer Picon Orange Bittters. Let it age for 10 weeks. It added soo much to the liquor. It added caramel notes, a nice dry niceness from aging the vermouth, and a smoothing effect of the strongness of the liquor. It is shaken and served up with orange oil. Delicious.
