Steve McDonagh is one half of The Hearty Boys; he and partner Dan Smith are trend setting Chicago caterers, authors of “Talk with Your Mouth Full”, original winners of Search For The Next Food Network Star and hosts of Party Line With the Hearty Boys. Their recently launched 3 star restaurant, HEARTY, has been much lauded for it’s “inspired and deft twists on iconic dishes”. You will see Steve's hand in the all American wine list and vintage cocktail menu.

    Notes: “HBTV” was an interactive on-camera cooking school and working television studio. Described as being along the lines of “cooking karaoke” it has been the only one of it’s type in the U.S. We decided to discontinue the studio in order to bring a restauarnt into the space. We continue to bring the "HBTV" experience to clients nationally.

    Notes: HB was our first Chicago restaurant and our third incarnation in that space (previously a gourmet takeaway and then a coffee/panini cafe). We transfered ownership in 2007 as we had become too busy with Food Network and cookbook appearances to be able to be on site as much as we wanted. HB was lauded by Chicago Magazine as one of the city’s “Top Ten Hot Spots” and by Timeout Chicago as having the year’s Best Dish (Pumpkin Pancakes).
