Elizabeth Mendez has gained a reputation for her unwavering commitment to hospitality throughout the Chicago restaurant scene. While financing her education at DePaul University, Mendez began to wait tables at some of Chicago’s most well known restaurants, the passion of the food and wine bug hit, and Mendez never looked back. Working under the well known Benny Siddu, owner of Volare and Benny’s Chophouse, is where Mendez first fell in love with the wine business, which continues today. Mendez further honed her hospitality skills working for the famed Gibson’s Restaurant Group. Mendez brought over fifteen years of experience to the table when joining the opening management team at the popular Carnivale. Currently Mrs. Mendez is pursuing the opening of her own wine bar and restaurant, Uva, with husband and Chef Mark Mendez.
