My favorite food memory has got to be the first time I ate at this little hole in the wall pizzeria in Regensburg, Germany. It was called San Marino. It was run by a retired Italian couple. The pizzas started with all of the freshest ingredients, everything from the dough to the meats were made in house. There were probably 20 cured meats, 15 types of olives, 10 different cheeses, fresh wood oven roasted vegetables. It was amazing. Better than any pizza in my life. to this day it is my bench mark when trying new pizza places. Nothing compares though. We traveld to Italy for a week and ate at every pizza place we could find. Still nothing better. I've eaten pizza from east coast, midwest, west coast pizza places and nothing has hit the mark. I will admit I have not been to Pizzaria Mozza, Great Lake, or anywhere in NYC, but San Marino will be my benchmark when I finally get to try those places.

Picking and eating strawberries from my grandparent's backyard is an awesome memory. They would serve them to me with a bowl of sugar, being maybe one of my first sweet memories.
