Thinking Outside the Kitchen
On a road trip, what types of food do you look for? What's worth pulling over for?

In Wisconsin I always pull over for pep clubs and school clubs selling grilled brats. Seems I can always be hungry for a brat at any hour if they are grilled outside behind a gas station or in a strip mall and the money goes to school sports. When I visit my aunt in Mobile AL I can’t wait to pull into a roadside stand for boiled peanuts. Drew won’t eat them but I love ‘em! There is also a tiny BBQ place called Mr. Mike’s I look for. In the Carolinas it is BBQ and in New Orleans it is boiled crawfish so I guess it changes depending on the road trip! I always look for “from scratch” home cooking.
