You've got a few close friends/family coming over and you wanna do right by them. What are your favorite dishes to serve at an intimate dinner party?

Try and do something that's pretty simple but ahead of time. In the winter it's pretty standard to break out a bad ass choucroute garni, with different sausages, slab bacon and we'll smoke a pork rack to finish it. Roasted fingerlings and a nice vegetable with lots of brown butter, lemon zest and sea salt. Lots of delicious wine and something easy for dessert, seasonal crumble or brownies-always with vanilla ice cream. So good.
