How much influence do you think "celebrity" chefs have on customers when they promote a product, destination or service?

They can have a tremendous impact for better or worse to the customer. Mostly because they are looked upon in the public eye as being well versed in the service or product. And as it turns out sometimes there envolvement ends up being based on selfish means, money or spotlight. When in fact there is no true knowledge or appreciation of the product or service.
